Even with diet and exercise, most people have stubborn pockets of fat that seem impossible to lose. SculpSure’s body contouring technology is able to target and destroy these fat cells without affecting the skin’s surface, without surgery or downtime.
What is SculpSure?
SculpSure is a FDA - cleared 1064nm laser that targets the adipocytes (fat cells) resulting in fat reduction equivalent with coolsculpting©.1 SculpSure is a non-invasive body contouring system for the reduction of stubborn fat. SculpSure was FDA approved in 2015 for treatment for abs and flanks and in 2017 approved for Legs and Thighs.
When will I see results?
Patients may start to see results as early as 6 weeks following treatment as the body begins to evacuate the destroyed fat cells, with optimal results usually seen at 12 weeks.
What should I expect during the treatment?
Most patients feel a tingling sensation intermittently throughout the treatment which is generally well-tolerated.2
How long before I can resume normal activities?
There is no downtime with SculpSure, so you can have the treatment during your lunch hour and return to work immediately.
What is the difference between fat loss and weight loss?
The number of fat cells stored in our bodies typically remain constant throughout adult life. After the SculpSure treatment, the destroyed fat cells will not return. However, as we lose weight, the size of fat cells become smaller, but typically do not decrease in number. Even with diet and exercise, many people have difficulty losing weight in these trouble areas.

How does PelleFirm work?
Specialized PelleFirm handpieces are used to deliver radiofrequency energy to the skin’s surface. The combination of radiowaves and the specialized massage head work together to temporarily reduce the appearance of cellulite. This technique facilitates movement of fluids, which are then evacuated by the body’s lymphatic system.
Does the procedure hurt?
No. The procedure is virtually painless with most patients reporting the treatment feels
like a hot stone massage.
Am I a candidate for PelleFirm?
PelleFirm is recommended for anyone looking for temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite for a smoother, more youthful look. Tell your clinician if you have a pacemaker, defibrillator implant, metal implant, or autoimmune disease, as the PelleFirm procedure may not be right for you.
How many treatments are needed?
A series of weekly/biweekly treatments are recommended for visible results, with touch-ups every 6 months thereafter. Your clinician or aesthetician can recommend the right amount of treatments for you.
How long does the treatment take?
A single PelleFirm treatment can be performed in less than an hour. However, treatment time can vary from patient to patient based on specific goals and treatment areas.
When can I return to normal activities?
You can return to normal activities immediately following treatment. Although there are no restrictions to sunlight exposure, it is always advisable to use broad-spectrum SPF on a daily basis
When will I see results?
The process of cellulite reduction takes time, and a series of treatments is typically required to see results. Since the effects are gradual, comparison with pretreatment photographs is recommended to demonstrate the results.

New Laser Technology by Cynosure!
We have added SculpSure, MonaLisa Touch, Pelleve, and Pellefirm to our practice.
Heather Reese, MD
How does it work?
The Pellevé system uses radiofrequency technology to gently warm the skin deep beneath the surface, which over time, stimulates the body’s natural production of new collagen. 30, 60, 90 days after treatment your body is still working to naturally grow new collagen. Because Pellevé triggers your body’s natural reaction to rebuild collagen weeks after the procedure, a series of treatments will give you optimal results!
Is Pellevé right for me?
Pellevé is ideal for men and women with all skin phototypes. Unlike most laser treatments, Pellevé is gentle on the skin and is safe to use all year round, regardless of tan skin.
Please discuss with your provider to determine if Pellevé is right for you.
What can I expect?
Pellevé is a comfortable, safe procedure that doesn’t have any downtime. Patients have reported that it feels similar to a relaxing hot stone massage. After the procedure you might have slight redness, which is caused by your skin’s elevated temperatures during treatment and will subside soon afterwards. You will be able to return to your normal day-to-day activities immediately after the procedure.
How long does the treatment take?
Treating the entire face takes anywhere from 45-60 min. If you would like a specific area treated (e.g., the delicate areas around your eyes, forehead, or smile lines) your procedure could be completed in as little as 30 minutes! Because the collagen rebuilding process continues to work days, weeks, even months after your treatment, a series of treatments are required for the best results.
How many treatments are recommended?
3 – 5 treatments are recommended about 4 weeks apart to boost the collagen rebuilding process. For optimal results, work with your provider to develop a treatment plan designed specifically for you.
